Did you ever wonder if it is better to be a male or a female in MapleStory? Is it true that except for your appearance, there is no difference between both genders? Wrong. Actually, there is one more difference (at least, that I can spot). Both genders get the same stats, same drop rate, and same exp, but not the same clothes. At the low levels, it doesn’t matter. You go to the shop in your job’s city, and buy the equipment you want. Later, after around level 35, you can’t buy any more clothes from NPC shops. Here, the difference starts. The drop rate for an equip of the same level and job should be about equal for both genders (for example, magicians’ level 38 overalls – Dark Moonlight (F) and Dark Starlight (M); both have the same stats). But, there are less females in MapleStory. This means that there is the same supply for males’ and females’ clothes (at least, approximately the same supply), but less demand for females’ clothes. Then, you follow the supply-and-demand rule of any economy: a higher demand for an item means a higher price for that item; a lower demand a lower price. Because there are more males in MapleStory, there is more demand for their clothing and that means it costs more.So yes, it’s cheaper to be a female in MS.Are you changing your gender now? ![]()
