Well, it looks like Nexon America has finally addressed one of the elephants in the room the past few months: unjustified bans. Many players were wrongfully banned for coming in contact with exploited mesos through other players as large amounts were introduced throughout the maple economy. Normally, in order to ban a player, evidence must be compiled and the case reviewed, and then, and only then, will a permanent ban be issued. So, Nexon just skipped all of that (perhaps we should be blaming their new rent-a-GMs?) and went straight to the ban hammer.
The good news:
players should check their e-mail for an e-mail notifying them they have been unbanned. The bad news: many players have received an e-mail (shown below) if they were banned, but all your tickets have been closed so you’ll have to make a new one if you weren’t unbanned. Oh, happy day!
Oh, and if you were looking for an apology from Nexon- well, you’ll be happy to know that they blamed it all on the players. Shocker!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us. This e-mail address should have received an e-mail with the resolution for the issue. If this did not resolve your issue, please feel free to create another ticket and we will address it as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this.

With the newly visible ban definitions and durations, we wanted to give a number of players a second chance in MapleStory. We all make mistakes so hopefully some of these players will take this opportunity to positively contribute to the great community we already have. In some circumstances, we will be going as far as awarding players with Maple Points during an upcoming patch. Please keep in mind that these unbanned accounts will be monitored for a period of time. Any inappropriate behavior or actions will result in account closure. An e-mail has been sent to the players whose accounts have been unbanned.
Please keep providing all the great feedback so we can continue to improve the game.
Thank you for your continued support of MapleStory.
